Venus-Pluto Cycle 2025
Love, Power, and Transformation
By Niki Tennessen | niki@siderealinternational.org

This week the goddess of love, Venus meets with goddess of discord, Eris in constellation Pisces on June 1st. Venus enters her first challenging aspect with Pluto, since their cycle began in December 2024, in the last degrees of Sagittarius. The Venus-Pluto cycle is a powerful dance that plays on themes of love and deep transformation.
Venus is an inner planet that rules our partnerships, pleasures, and the values we hold close to our hearts. She’s how we exchange energy and express our affections. Pluto is an incredibly potent outer planet that initiates change, drives us to use our power, and famously symbolizes endings.
Remember, every ending presents us with a new beginning. Pluto rules intensity, the hidden and taboo, so it makes whatever planetary cycle that begins with Pluto one that will transform your inner and outer worlds.

Venus and Pluto
What makes Venus-Pluto cycles so special? Venus is how we want, desire, and possess in the material world. Venus in myth was not afraid to go after what she wanted, even if it led to war over land, resources, or even romantic partners. She could be vindictive, jealous, and possessive. She’s the total package! Not just the soft benefic goddess of love, she also experiences and expresses the dualities of her own nature.
Pluto represents the unconscious desires of the soul. What do we want deep down on a cosmic level? Pluto is well-known for invoking feelings of obsessiveness, power struggles, and the orchestrator of intense soul connections. Plutonian relationships have no doubt left burn marks on our hearts and souls. This cycle is where love meets transformation.
Venus-Pluto cycles begin every 18 months to two years, initiating a journey of emotional growth and change. Pluto is the initiator, making sure we never get too comfortable, that our shadow selves are seen, and the unconscious desires of the soul are heard. When Pluto is involved, challenges and forced changes make their way onto the stage of life.
Ceres
This cycle’s seeding began early December 2024, in the last degrees of Sagittarius, along with Ceres, the minor planet of community, maternity, and environment. Ceres influenced the seeds of this new cycle by softly whispering, “How can I be nourished? Where do I fit into the bigger picture?” In the last degrees of Sagittarius, we may come to realize that we need to find a deeper sense of meaning and purpose. The future is out there and we are always searching to find our place in it.

From Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces
Venus has moved through the stars Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces after her meeting with Pluto last year. Her retrograde took us from the 21st degree of Pisces back to the very beginning. In that time, we reevaluated our self-worth, spiritual beliefs, and our need to prioritize self-care and boundaries! She gave us time to set new goals and heal old wounds. Her retrograde ended April 12th when she met for the second time our potent Saturn-Neptune-North Node conjunction where new awareness of the soul’s path was discovered—or maybe rediscovered for some of us.
Pluto, on the other hand, had moved out of the boundaries of Sagittarius (and will enter again in 2254) and pushed into the stars of Capricorn where he will stay until April 2040, when he enters Aquarius. You can think back to when this cycle started last year and see how much has changed in your inner and outer worlds. Has it shifted? What changes did you see, and how has it affected everyday contentment for you?
Eris
The past six months have built up to our first challenge in relation to this cycle and it includes Eris, famously known for her ability to invoke disruption and discord wherever she goes. Eris doesn’t instigate for chaos’s sake; her methods expose deeper underlying truths, and rip the mask off the face of inauthenticity. Eris is a challenger of systems, shaker of structures, and confronter of illusions, especially in Pisces.
This experience is pushing us forward to make different choices, removing obstacles, revealing a new motivation and perhaps brilliant soulful inspiration, and hits about what and who you love.
Venus and Eris-Pluto Square
Venus with Eris-Pluto square will inspire shadow work and staring wide-eyed into our own covert agendas. A new realization or revelation may be discovered. We may have to come to terms with our inner emotions and the choices we’ve made so far since this cycle began. Eris revealing deeper truths makes Venus so uncomfortable, she is forced to reclaim her power.

This Week in Summary
Venus is under the influence of powerful forces this week; powers that transform, reshape, and are heavy on the inner work. Pluto’s retrograde in Capricorn began May 4th, initiating a reevaluation of long-term goals and relationship power-dynamics. The first quarter of this cycle presents just enough tension to , confront any obstacles challenging our relationships, and be the motivation for strengthening relationships that matter the most to us.
Perhaps the most important relationship you have is the one you share with yourself. This phase invites you not to fix everything all at once, but to start with the one person you can truly transform: You!

Thank you for this reminder Niki! Something told me to check what the astrology was doing on the day I was married. Venus, Pluto, and Juno were conjunct in my 10th house by only a few degrees, not far from my MC. Jupiter was also conjunct my Sun in the 10th. HA! I didn’t study astrology back then, so I had no clue what I was doing! I have to laugh because no matter what, astrology is always doing its thing.
