In my experience out there day to day, men in general are NOT interested in astrology and a lot of the time, actively hostile towards it. They “don’t put any stock into it” even after I explain it’s not spiritual, not fate, and not mystical.
I’m deeply curious about this phenomenon, which granted extends I think towards any other “woowoo” deemed interest. Men are by and large not interested, and women are.
A Google search on why gives me paltry explanations.Curious to see others thoughts and theories.
It might be a big ask but one of my life missions is to show the world that astrology is valid
But I need to get men on board first.13 August 2025 at 6:01 PM #10176::Hi, Olivia! I think it depends. I think half of our oversight group members are men. It seems to me there are more male astrologers than say psychic work. If I had to guess, it’s probably a cultural issue. If you look back through history, most astrologers were men. In Sumer, they had whole convents of women astronomer-astrologers. I think it shifted toward more male dominated during Babylonian times, and then only recently became more open to women. But again, that was likely culturally driven. But I don’t know for sure.
22 August 2025 at 3:30 PM #10177::As someone who has spent a lifetime serving others my experience is that the majority of women are always interested in discussing astrology whilst the opposite is generally true of men even in the supposedly enlightened town in which I now live. I have lost male friends simply because they aren’t open to considering other possibilities and perspectives on life and I believe this is due to their conditioning and it is expecially true of academics or professionals of both genders.
Women have a more natural bent to the subject whilst men are more likely, as I am, to be interested in the technicalities and applying the knowledge on a mundane rather than personal level. It’s wrong to generalise as I’ve just done as what I’ve said may hold true in the west but the opposite is probably true in the east.
22 August 2025 at 3:38 PM #10178::It is quite fascinating to me, that he’s throughout history most of the astrologers are men! I think it seems that modern times have diluted the art of it and grouped it together with other mystical practices, which again, only my personal experience, seems to be dismissed by most men. Most women I meet are very open to anything considered alternative while men seem to latch on to strict science. I hope this changes, someday, and that astrology is seen again as the technical and mathematically rich art it should be.
22 August 2025 at 3:40 PM #10179::This is a great observation, I am truly sorry for your loss of friendships over it. I do wish more could see how helpful and rich it is. I’m learning much more now of the technical and predictive aspects but I do suppose I’m still more in line with the feminine aspect of using it to help with self awareness and personal growth. Which is why I want to learn everything and help anyone! Thank you for sharing!
25 August 2025 at 1:07 PM #10206::Ya know I started putting myself out there to meet new people recently and I’ve found generally most men can be very receptive to real sky astrology. Meaning they’ll listen and will be interested. They’ll be like wow how do you know that? but always disappear after the convo like ehhhh I don’t want this chick to really get to know me lol. I think a lot of people hide and don’t ever really want to be known because they don’t know who they are to begin with. Unfortunately in the West our men have been victimized, gaslit, and manipulated by residual past societal standards and by other powerful men that just want to use them for 60hr work weeks and enslave them in debt. Imagine never being able to cry because it makes you less of a man or whatever omg. I do see more male clients than I do female and heavy topics can surface like molestation, abuse, or rape. Most men will live with stories of abuse without ever breathing a word of it to another human being but we see it manifesting later in life as infidelity, addictions, or worse- repeating the abusive behaviors they endured as children. I think that the more we realize men and women are the same we can understand where the other sex is coming from. Idk I guess I feel bad for men. I think that they can be open to astrological concepts but its just depending on the person. Not all men will be dismissive and think its woo woo. I think its fear of what could be uncovered that keeps most men on the astrology fence? Its a possibility anyways! This is an interesting topic!
